Meet our band director

Josephine Bossenberger began working with the Bullock Creek Bands in 2016. Prior to the working with the BC Bands, Mrs. B taught band and choir in Stewart County, Tennessee. Mrs. B first moved to TN to be a graduate assistant for the Pride of the Southland Band Program at the University of Tennessee. While there, Mrs. B earned her master of music degree in performance. Mrs. Bossenberger earned her bachelor’s degree at Eastern Michigan University. While at EMU, Mrs. B served as drum major for the EMU Marching Band for three years, and held principal chairs in the wind ensemble and orchestra. Mrs. B was a competitive student while at EMU, playing in many master classes, recitals, ensembles, and also won the William Stewart Concerto competition. But most importantly, while at EMU, Mrs. B found the love of her life; Mr. Philip Bossenberger who is now the band director at Lake City Schools.

Mrs. Bossenberger has taught private lessons for almost 15 years, and has been teaching marching band for nearly that long as well. Mrs. B has always know that she wanted to be a teacher, and having the opportunity to work with the Lancer Bands is her dream. Mrs. B strongly believes that a music education can be the most important experience students will have in school, and teaches students so many things beyond the basic notes and rhythms to play in a band. Because of this belief, Mrs. B works hard every day to make the bands at Bullock Creek the best they can be to give the students the best experience possible.
