Dear BCHS Families,
The high school was buzzing with Homecoming Week festivities. As we wrap up our week, here are a few things to share.
1. Registration for the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is now open. We encourage all 11th-grade students to take this exam on October 22. The PSAT/NMSQT serves as the official qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship Program, offering opportunities for college scholarships and recognition, as well as valuable practice for the SAT. Underclassmen are encouraged to consider taking the test as a great, low-stakes opportunity to gain early practice with standardized college readiness testing. The deadline to register is October 2 in the Counseling Office, and the fee is $20.
2. Families can enjoy our student assembly this afternoon by following the link below. Assembly begins shortly after 1:30.

3. Families have 1 week left to get registered for the Sharing Tree program – see flyer
4. Homecoming details are in the attachment – parade, game and dance
5. BCHS Parent/Teacher Conferences are approaching. Attending parent-teacher conferences gives parents a look into their child’s daily educational experience. While Skyward captures scores and completed assignments, teachers have much deeper insights to share—such as a student’s work ethic, peer interactions, critical thinking habits, and emotional growth. These conversations allow parents and teachers to collaborate and ensure the student receives the support and encouragement they need to thrive both academically and socially. We offer two nights of conferences parents can sign up for. The first night will be in-person and the second night we offer either in-person or via Google Meet. Use the links below to sign up for a teacher time slot on the day of your choice.
Google meet links will be sent out the week of conferences.
*If you don’t see a teacher on the list, we have a couple of staff who have conflicts on our set conference dates so they will be sending a similar sign up link to their families to offer times on a different day.
6. A reminder that our website has daily announcements, news and a calendar of events (both academic and athletic) https://www.bcreek.org/o/bchs
