BCHS

Dear BCHS Families,

Tomorrow begins remote instruction for our students.   Students will learn remotely from Thursday, January 13th through Monday, January 17th – returning to school for in person learning on Tuesday, January 18th.  All students were asked to report their technologies needs during 1st hour so we could issue any necessary equipment to them before the end of today.

Important...
1.  Students are required to be in class and following their regular schedule (schedule is attached).
2.  A complete list of remote learning expectations for students is attached – please review.
3.  EXAMS are cancelled, however, teachers may still plan a test or assessment for next week.  *Teachers will communicate this to students.
4.  Next week’s altered exam schedule will revert back to the normal schedule.  Thursday will be a regularly scheduled day and will NOT have the ½ day option.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this period of remote instruction.

Remote Learning Expectations for BCHS Students

Attending Google Meets is required:

  • Students are expected to attend each of their classes via Google Meet.

  • Teachers will take attendance at the beginning of each class.

  • In order for students to be marked present for the Meet, cameras need to be turned

on and the student’s face needs to be seen during instruction time.

  • Students who do not attend or do not turn their cameras on will be marked absent.

    Expectations for Student Participation:

  • Individual teachers will establish their own classroom norms, expectations, requirements and rules for their Google Meets.

  • Students are required participate in the daily instruction – engaging in what is being taught by the classroom teacher, participating in class discussions, answering questions, and completing work.

  • Students are required to have their audio muted and cameras on so that their faces may be seen. Audio may be unmuted when sharing with the rest of the class or talking with or asking questions to the teacher.

  • The Google Meet Chat window will be used for questions to the teacher and not for casual conversation.

  • Students should do their best to be out of bed, sitting up and ready to learn.

  • Students should be focused on the lesson and not doing other things while instruction is being given.

  • Music, video games, or television should be off during class time.

  • Students are required to stay in class until class is dismissed.

  • Work may be done offline. However, the Meet will remain open for the entire class time for students to ask questions and seek help from their teacher.

Work not turned in may result in a zero on the assignment. Circumstances may allow for them to turn things in at a later date

  • If unable to attend during the day, assignments will be posted in Google Classroom for students to review and complete, however, students will be marked absent if not present during class time.
