Congratulations to the Pine River March Lancer Superstars! Thank you for being shining examples and role models for your fellow students.

Thank you, Jessica, for your many years of dedication to Pine River and Bullock Creek School District. From safely driving our students each day to caring for them during lunch and recess, you’ve made a lasting impact on so many lives. You’ll be missed.

Shoutout to Ms. Monique, the awesome social worker at Pine River. Thanks for all you do to support students, families, and staff. We appreciate you!

Pine River third graders visited the Grace A. Dow Memorial Library for a hands-on field trip. Our students learned how to care for books, practiced their book-finding skills, and enjoyed a guided tour. Throughout the visit, they participated in fun, interactive activities. A huge thank you to the library for welcoming our students and to the Friends of the Library for generously giving each student a free book to take home.

From 70° to snow, what a week! Pine River 3rd graders dove into Creek Week at Chippewa Nature Center, extending their Michigan history study. They explored Indigenous peoples, Europeans and the fur trade, lumbering, homesteading, and maple syrup, plus how jobs, trade, and natural resources shaped the Great Lakes, especially Midland.

BCMS student council kicked off March is Reading Month with a visit to Pine River, reading aloud and leading a lively rock‑paper‑scissors game! Such a great experience for all students. Huge thanks to Mrs. Gillean and Mrs. Holzhauer for organizing.

The 4th graders from Pine River had a great experience in Lansing today visiting the State Capitol and the Michigan History Museum. They also had the unique opportunity to meet State Representative Bill G. Schuette.

Congratulations to the January Pine River Lancer Superstars for demonstrating safe, respectful, and responsible behaviors.

Today during recess, some Pine River students spent their time creating cards for the residents at Colonial Villa with Ms. Monique. This is how our students are learning the importance of giving back to the community and spreading joy beyond our school walls.

Mrs. Shunn’s fourth-grade class at Pine River was shaking things up today to discover whether a mountain will last forever.

Mrs. Clements’ fifth-grade class had a great field trip to the Chippewa Nature Center despite the cold weather. Students participated in engaging indoor activities focused on Indigenous peoples and how they survived. They explored how housing and clothing were made from hides and had hands-on opportunities to practice stringing moccasins, weaving baskets, making pottery, and creating their own string from natural resources.

In Art Extension, Pine River 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are practicing using lines and shapes to create abstract works of art while also learning how to create reflections. They are “dueling” with a partner, challenging each other to create increasingly complex designs. The project will be finished by adding color to the final pieces.

The Pine River students had a great time playing in the snow at recess today. We were glad to see everyone today.

Congratulations to our December Pine River Lancer Superstars! You are wonderful role models of what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe. We are so proud of you!
