Throughout last week, third grade students from Pine River spent each morning at the Chippewa Nature Center. They learned how people throughout Michigan's history used nature. They explored how indigenous tribes, fur traders, lumberman, and homesteaders used nature. It was a fun week filled with learning in the context of nature.

Pine River 4th graders were thankful for a break in the snow last Friday so they could visit Lansing. They toured the Michigan State Capitol. A highlight was viewing the inner dome while lying on the glass floor of the rotunda. They also walked through time as they toured the five floors of the Michigan History Museum.
