Here are some photos of brains that were built in psychology this spring! Students chose something to study that would impact the human brain, such as caffeine, sleep deprivation, sugar, blue light, etc., and then did some research. After building a brain, they gave a presentation teaching the class about the impact on 10 chosen brain parts. Brains were made from a wide variety of materials including Play-Doh, clay, brownie mix, cauliflower and more. One brain was even 3D printed this year! Students learned a great deal and seemed to even have some fun.

The Foods and Nutrition students competed in a Food Truck competition this week. Students had to create a food truck and present their ideas to a panel of staff earlier this week. Trucks that made it to the second round of competition created their trucks' signature dish for more guest judges today.

Mr. Milligan's Algebra 2 students ended their probability unit outside on Friday applying probabilities to win Skunk!

Physics students were decorating the sidewalk with fun physics. Other pictures are physics students trying to use torque and center of mass to balance a meter stick. Who says physics isn't fun?

BCHS Physics class...Maddy succeeded at getting the gyro ring to work in physics class. Nathan had the idea to take a slow motion video where you can really see the precession of the colored rings.

Today, Alg. 1 students were shooting basketball shots in class and using a video of their best shot to come up with a quadratic model.

Who doesn't like to shoot baskets in class? Today in Mr. Martin's Algebra 1 students were shooting basketball shots in class and using a video of their best shot to come up with a quadratic model.

Physics students in Mrs. Martin's class designed underride guards to stop a Barbie Jeep from going under a semi, but they also had to try to reduce the acceleration during the crash. Always wear your seat belt!

BCHS Robotics enjoying some great competition at Dow High. Congratulations on being recognized for your leadership in safety!

Please see flyers for community events...

Physics students in Mrs. Martin's class had to design an underride guard for the back of a semi to prevent the Barbie Jeep from going under but also reduce the acceleration and force during the collision. The child in the Jeep was unrestrained so the students could see what happens when you are in an accident without your seat belt. Protect yourself and others in the car by always wearing your seatbelt!

BCHS Juniors practice their interviewing skills at Northwood University.

Students in Foods & Nutrition class planned and prepared recipes using vegetables this week. Some of the biggest hits were the carrot smoothie, roasted asparagus, sautéed green beans, and street corn but all turned out delicious and the students enjoyed trying new things.

Thursday was Absolutely Incredible Kid Day, a national day to encourage and inspire students. Creekers for a Cause celebrated the absolutely incredible kids in Miss Pretzer's classroom by presenting them with special handmade cards and a yummy treat.
