Bullock Creek Elementary and Floyd Elementary are holding their round ups in Feb.
BCEL will welcome families on Feb. 3rd from 6-7pm and Floyd Elementary will welcome families on Feb. 6th from 6-7pm.
We'd love to see you if you are needing to sign your student up for Young Fives or Kindergarten for the 25/26 school year.

The BC/PR PTO purchased snow toys for students to use during recess. The purchase was perfect timing as it snowed the very next day. The Pine River Elementary students enjoyed building different snow structures on the last day before break.

Pine River 3rd graders had an AWESOME time at Grace A. Dow Library today! Students toured the library, learned about how the fiction and non-fiction sections are organized, participated in a scavenger hunt, and even got to pick out a new book to take home. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for sponsoring this trip!
Mrs. Pretzer treated classrooms to a bonfire today. Each class got to go out and enjoy the fire, a story, songs, and jingle bell sticks to shake for rhythm! Thank you, Mrs. Pretzer, for planning such a fun day for us!!
This month our Bullock Creek Board of Education honored several Lancer Leaders. Congratulations to Mrs Vauhkonen, Mrs Martin, Mr Tomko, Mrs Eitel and Mrs McGraw. Thank you to each for your service to the district!
Pine River Elementary 3rd graders enjoyed participating in holiday dress up!
Floyd’s Young 5’s teacher, Carri McGuire, is a member of The Dow Sustainability Teacher Fellowship for the 24/25 school year. Through this Fellowship, she is receiving support and a mini-grant for a project she is doing to increase biodiversity on our school campus by creating a meadow with her class and other classes in the school.
Last week she used part of her mini-grant to take her class and the two kindergarten classes to Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum. The students learned about bees and pollination. They also had time to explore all of the areas of the museum.
On Friday night BCMS Student Council representatives spread some holiday cheer to our creek community as participants in the annual Stay in your Sleigh light parade hosted by the Bullock Creek/Pine River PTO. You could say, they were OUT of this world! Happy Holidays, Earthlings!
Erin Rey was nominated by an amazing BCEL family for the Golden Apple award sponsored by the Lee Steinberg law firm. TV 25 was out today to film the surprise that she had won!!! Congratulations Erin Rey!! A well deserved recognition for one of the best!!! Thank you for always advocating for our kids and for being an outstanding educator! 🍎
On Saturday, Pine River Go Bots participated in the FIRST Lego League at Freeland Middle School. The group learned a tremendous amount and took 19 out of 37 teams! The team looks forward to participating next year.

Today the varsity band treated BCEL to an amazing holiday concert!! They got us in the holiday spirit with songs like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, Feliz Navidad, and White Christmas.
We also got to learn a little about what instruments are in the band and the sounds that they make. We are so grateful for this fun event each year! Ms. B, your band is amazing! What great examples for our little Lancers to look up to!
We would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Chippewa Nature Center for improving our meadow area at BCEL. They donated native flower seeds and their time to remove invasive plants and to plant the native seeds. We look forward to seeing the flowers and the insects they attract and support.
Fifth grade students in Miss Hannah's classroom enjoyed a Read In on Tuesday before Thanksgiving.
Our K-2nd grade students are thankful for rain gear that allows us to go outside when it's raining. We have such fun learning experiences in all types of weather.
BCEL's Peer to Peer group is off to a great start. We are having fun while learning about sustainability and making new friends.
BCEL could not be more thankful for Mr and Mrs. Schweigert and all the work they put into making our school look so magical this time of year! BCEL glows because of the time, thought, and effort they put in! Thank you to our beloved Mr. and Mrs. Schweigert!! BCEL looks amazing!
