Recognizing the importance of caring for those who care for our students, Bullock Creek staff participated in a district-wide Wellness Professional Development Day on January 19.
The day began with an engaging and inspiring presentation by comedian and motivational speaker Larry Weaver. Following the keynote, staff members had the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of breakout sessions focused on financial, physical, and mental wellness. Sessions offered hands-on and informative experiences such as estate and financial planning, yoga, snowshoeing, hiking, candle making, bread making, video games, and many more.
The goals of the day were learning, collaboration, and fun—and the day truly delivered on all three.

This month our Bullock Creek Board of Education presented Lancer Leader Awards to three wonderful recipients. Congratulations to Jerry Haines, Teresa Hahn and Lukas Dexter. Awards were nominated by Crystal Snell and R. Harding.
The Floyd playground was the place to be today thanks to Mrs. Chaffin and her bowling lane. 🎳❄️
Today during recess, some Pine River students spent their time creating cards for the residents at Colonial Villa with Ms. Monique. This is how our students are learning the importance of giving back to the community and spreading joy beyond our school walls.
Mrs. Shunn’s fourth-grade class at Pine River was shaking things up today to discover whether a mountain will last forever.
Mrs. Clements’ fifth-grade class had a great field trip to the Chippewa Nature Center despite the cold weather. Students participated in engaging indoor activities focused on Indigenous peoples and how they survived. They explored how housing and clothing were made from hides and had hands-on opportunities to practice stringing moccasins, weaving baskets, making pottery, and creating their own string from natural resources.
In Art Extension, Pine River 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are practicing using lines and shapes to create abstract works of art while also learning how to create reflections. They are “dueling” with a partner, challenging each other to create increasingly complex designs. The project will be finished by adding color to the final pieces.
Floyd 1st graders experienced the Delta College Planetarium today and enjoyed the lessons Follow the Drinking Gourd and Legend of the Night Sky. This was a trip perfectly paired with a recent nature lesson provided by the Chippewa Nature Center.
Mrs. Crego, our Floyd math coach, and Mrs. Diaz's 3rd graders are flexing their math muscles with their Number Corner workouts earlier today.
Our 8th grade Nature Exploration students collected samples of water at Chippewa Nature Center's Wetlands. They then learned about and practiced filtering the water.
Floyd Elementary is excited to welcome our next group of Young 5's and Kindergarteners. If you know someone ready to join for next year, please share with them that they are invited to join us for more information on February 5th at 6PM. Presentation begins at 6:15PM.
Floyd teachers arrived to the first staff meeting of the new year with their sense of humor and water "bottle." Laughing together as we did this morning, and seeing students looking forward to 2026, keep our days fun.

Floyd 2nd grader, Olivander, is teaching Paisley how to do the daily update for Number Corner in Mr. Gusler's classroom. All classrooms are now participating in these creative, daily math workouts.
The Pine River students had a great time playing in the snow at recess today. We were glad to see everyone today.
After a shortened schedule of classes on Friday, BCMS students participated in an Activity Day where they could choose from a variety of things to do with their fellow classmates. Activities included cookie decorating, holiday bingo, karaoke, board games, watching a movie with hot chocolate, computer games, art projects, gym time and a nature walk. A good time was had by all and it was a great way to end the semester and start winter break!
Congratulations to our December Pine River Lancer Superstars! You are wonderful role models of what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe. We are so proud of you!

We took 24 wrestlers and 22 of them placed in the top 6 of there weight class.
Even more amazing out of 19 weight classes, 11 of them featured a Bullock Creek Wrestler in the Championship match.
