BCEL's second grade students had the chance to do some public speaking this week through an authors share event! Parents were treated to the published works of their students as they bravely got up on stage to read their pieces! We are so incredibly proud of all the hard work that went into this event. Students planned, drafted, revised, and published their writing in order to be ready for authors share. Thank you 2nd grade teachers for all the work put into this experience for our kids and our families!

This week BCEL was filled with so many events and activities! We were feeling the love of Valentine's Day!! Ms. Terrill, one of our Young Fives teachers, organized a school-wide community service project. She, along with our other amazing classroom teachers, had BCEL students make Valentine's Day cards for the residents of Riverside. Ms. Terrill delivered our cards and art projects on Wednesday so that the residents could receive something special on a day filled with love! We sure do love to spread the love :) Thank you, Ms. Terrill, for organizing this project!

Happy National Counselor Week to Mrs. Jackie Fermoyle! Mrs. Fermoyle is Bullock Creek Middle School's counselor and works with students on a regular basis assisting in the academic, social and emotional well-being of our students. In addition to these things, her office is busy throughout the day with students stopping in to chat about different things, asking for advice on a given situation, checking in for a "chill" after having a rough night at home or popping in for a piece of candy or gum. Mrs. Fermoyle loves and cares about every student at BCMS and we are lucky to have her on our team. Her dedication to meeting the needs of our students is one of the things that makes BCMS a great place to be. Thank you for all you do Mrs. Fermoyle.

Thank you for all that you do for us!!

Mrs. Napoli and Mrs. Dopp's 2nd-grade students at BCEL have had a blast sledding this week! Being out in nature releasing some energy before persevering on their winter benchmark assessments! Research shows that when kids can get outside in their natural environment increases performance on structured tasks in the classroom. Mrs. Napoli and Mrs. Dopp loved watching their students naturally live in the moment allowing the moment to be what it was; magical, silly, and adventurous!
